Moon Before Yule
Posted on Dec 20th, 2013

The last full moon of 2013 rose over the San Bernard on December 17, 2013.  >>

Named the Cold Moon, the Long Night Moon, and the Moon Before Yule, it’s also the smallest because it  coincides with the most distant point in the moon’s orbit that will make it appear smaller than the typical full moon.

Does the full moon light have an influence on how fish bite when fishing? Some claim it is pointless to fish during a full moon, but others are adamant that their catches are particularly good during a full moon and can barely be surpassed. If you have a good fish tale about fishing (day or night) on a full moon, pass it along.
This Christmas season raise a glass of ye ole nog to the Yule Moon.
