The quarterly Phillips 66 Refinery and ChevronPhillips Chemical Plant Citizen's Advisory Panel (CAP) met on November 13th at the CPChem administration building in Old Ocean. FOR was represented by Vanessa Taylor, Fred Kanter and Tom Ronayne.
Representatives from each community group present, as well as the two plants, gave updates on current events for their respective organizations and facilities. The FOR members thanked both companies for their support of our River Regatta and reminded everyone about the upcoming Christmas Boat Parade.
Eric Gibson from CPChem Clemens Terminal Operations then gave the group an overview of the Clemens Terminal facility covering such topics as salt dome geology, brine cavern construction, operation and maintenance, and permit requirements associated with brine discharge to the river.
The next CAP meeting is scheduled for February of 2013.
