Sporting flaxen manes and tails, Fannie and Birdie, eight-year-old Belgian mares, live on the east bank of the river near the Churchill bridge. Owners, Evelyn Nachtegaele (whose has her own blonde mane) and husband Robert, own the San Bernard River RV Park. Living with them, next to the river, are two ostriches, ten pygmy goats and several RV park residents.
