Sights and sounds of the Christmas holiday were seen and heard along the San Bernard River during the 24th annual Christmas Boat Parade/Home Decorating Contest on Saturday, December 11, 2010. Twenty-two boats of all types and sizes, decorated with Christmas themes, paraded down the San Bernard from the FM 521 bridge to below the Sportsman Span bridge on FM 2611.

 

Winners of the boat parade, in the category of boats 23’ and under, were first place, James Gillenwater; second place, David Wood; and third place, Larry Fulkerson.

Winners in the category of boats 24’ – 30’ were, first place, Tom and Peggy Davidson and second place, Karen Brown. Winners in the 31’ and over category were, first place, Scott Summers; second place, Frederick Cordes; and third place, Pete Smirch.

 

Winners of the Christmas Home Decorating contest in the category of homes 100’ and under were first place, Tim Morrison; second place, Jill Torres; and third place, Kim and Dennis Northon. Winners in the homes 100’ and over were, first place, Stephanie Stewart; second place, Bobbie Barker; and third place, anonymous.

 

Palm trees swayed on first place winner James Gillenwater’s entry in the 23’ and under boat category.

 

Christmas lights sparkled on first place winner, Tom and Peggy Davidson’s entry in the 24’-30’ size boat category.
