Decorate your boat with holiday lights/decorations and participate in the 37th annual Friends of the River (FOR San Bernard) Christmas Boat Parade. The “Ring in the New Year” lighted parade happens on Saturday, Dec 9th. No entry fee and no registration required –– just fill your decorated boat with family and friends and enjoy the fun!
Starting at 6:00 pm, holiday decorated boats of all sizes travel downriver from the FM 521 bridge to the FM 2611 Churchill Bridge. Leading the parade will be the Gulf Coast Rescue Squad with lights flashing and siren blaring followed by the YellowStone Paddlewheeler.
The FOR Community Center, 20450 CR 510-B, a mile south of the FM 521 bridge, opens at 5:00 pm for public viewing of the parade. Christmas cookies and hot chocolate will be available to enjoy during the parade. Additional public viewing areas are located at the FM 521 boat ramp, FM 2611 boat ramp and Dido’s Restaurant.
