2016 Christmas Boat Parade & Home Decorating Contest

Join spectators and party goers along the San Bernard River at the 30th annual Christmas Boat Parade and Home Decorating Event on Sat Dec 10. Holiday decorated boats line up at 6:00 pm at the FM 521 bridge and travel down river to the FM 2611 Churchill Bridge.
Boats (large or small, private or commercial) participating in the parade should be decorated and crew dressed in holiday fare. The Christmas theme and decorations are up to the entrant. Any props such as lights, music, characters or high-technology can be used. It’s tremendous fun and creates memories that last a lifetime. Boat and home categories.
Homes participating in the decorating event must have all lights and decorations lit on Fri Dec 9 at 7:00 pm for judging and photography and Sat Dec 10 for the parade.
A Captain’s meeting for all participants is scheduled on Thu Dec 8, 7:00 pm at Dido’s Restaurant. Parade instructions will be given and questions answered.
Enjoy watching the parade at the FOR Community Center located a mile south of the FM 521 bridge on CR 510-B, opens at 5:00 pm and bring lawn chairs. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served. See additional public viewing areas.
An awards party, honoring participants of the Christmas Boat Parade and Home Decorating Event, will be held at noon on Sun Dec 11 at parade chairmen Vanessa and Nelson Taylor’s home, 2909 CR 604. Attendees will enjoy a barbecue with all the trimmings and door prizes. Awards include custom engraved cutting boards and a drawing for two infrared oil less cookers.
