Posted on Nov 11th, 2016

Tom Guffey, local kayak fishing expert, was a speaker at a Friends of the River San Bernard Environmental Committee public education program last June. Plans are underway to entice him to speak again this next year.

Proving that he can catch anything, this was a quick catch and release of a non-laughing gull.

November 1, 2016...left: Tom holds a rare snook identified by its distinctive lateral line along its body, caught recently in the San Bernard. Snook are usually found lower down the Texas coast. An interesting aspect of snook life history is that individual fish can change sex from male to female.

Tom shows off a nice string of San Bernard flounder and reds that will soon be on a table.
