Posted on Nov 1st, 2016

Two FOR events back-to-back on SAT NOV 5th:
Adopt-a-Hwy
9:45 am
Churchill Bridge
Parking Lot
Breakfast on the Bernard
8:30 - 9:30 am
Dido’s Restaurant
Immediately following the regular first-Saturday-of-the-month Breakfast on the Bernard, the second FOR Adopt-a-Highway trash pickup of the year is scheduled along FM 2611. The goal is to clean a one mile stretch of road located either side of the Churchill Bridge. This prevents trash thrown along the roadside from being washed into the river. Everyone is invited to participate!
Volunteers should meet at the Churchill Bridge boat ramp parking area at 9:45 am and wear a hat, gloves, sunscreen and mosquitoes repellent. Strong shoes or boots are a good idea. TXDOT and FOR supplies bottled water, safety vests and trash bags.
Be sure and fuel up first with breakfast at the regular first-Saturday-of-the-month FOR Breakfast on the Bernard at Dido’s Restaurant (located not far from the bridge). Breakfast is served from 8:30 - 9:30 am. Cost is $8 and kids under ten eat free. The coffee’s hot and so’s the conversation!
Call Co-chairs Mike Pudlo, 832.876.5522 or Tom Ronayne 979.345.2111 for information or just show up and help pick up. Help keep the San Bernard looking beautiful!
