Huey Family Inspired
$5,000 Dolphin Sponsor
2013 FOR Regatta & Fundraiser

This year’s FOR fundraiser, by early speculation, will go down as the most successful ever. FOR's success is because of the generosity of the sponsors, the tireless work of various committees and the many other volunteers who went above and beyond to make this happen. We also don’t take lightly our auction donors and bidders whose generosity is simply amazing.  >>
The two-day event began with the “Carnival of Fun Run” dock hop, where boaters traveled to various locations along the river starting at the FOR Community Center, then upriver to Louie and Chinna Yaklin's dock, then downriver to Kirk and Cathy Wardlaw’s dock, Dido’s Restaurant dock, High 5 Bar & Grill dock and ending at Gloria and Darryl Powell’s dock. At each location there were the Braz Clowns of the El Mina Shrine conducting games for youngsters and registering entrants of the “Best Hand Wins” competition. This was definitely a fun event and a beautiful day on the river, especially with the cooperation of the weather (thanks, weather committee).

Day two was the fundraising event, and again, the Shrine Braz Clowns were on hand to assist with young attendees and the auction. This year's top Dolphin sponsor, the Huey Family Inspired, (family of Nancy Huey Kanter) made their generous donation to fund handicap-accessible improvements to the FOR Community Center. There were also a total of (6) Kingfish sponsors, (7) Redfish sponsors, (9) Trout sponsors, and (21) Flounder sponsors. Sponsor ads

The Regatta Committee of Suzanne Goodson, Linda Wright, Nancy Kanter, Gary Kersh, Committee Chairman, and President Wayne Head did a great job organizing the fundraiser, ticket sales, and gathering donations and raffle items. The Logo Committee, and its super members, did a great job with table decorations and merchandise sales.

A very heart felt thanks to all the participants, sponsors, and volunteers who made the fundraiser the success it was, and again thanks to the weather committee, who held off the rain just long enough. Thanks to you all.
- Wayne Head, 2012-14 FOR President
