Fire Ban In Effect Starting 16Nov12
Posted on Nov 16th, 2012
A 90-day ban on outdoor burning for Brazoria County, within the unincorporated areas of the county only, takes effect today. Updated information will be sent out if the burn ban is extended or lifted.
Fire Factoid: When sustained winds are 25 to 35 mph over "cured" grasses, fire can spread at a rate of 3-4 mph with flame lenghts 10 to 12 feet. This equates to flames the height of a one story building burning the length of a football field in one minute.
