A cool, clear, Fall evening set the stage for a successful FOR fundraiser “Roundup on the San Bernard” on Sat, Oct 14th. It was an enthusiastic display of river fellowship and fun that took place at the FOR Community Center as two hundred guests attended the event.
After working through an all you could eat meal of fried catfish, shrimp and cobbler dessert, attendees heard “going once, going twice, sold" forty times during the live auction. Bid paddles were raised on items that included an Arctic cooler filled with 25 lbs. of grass-fed beef raised on the banks of the San Bernard, a 1968 working electric trolling motor and the always popular FOR progressive dinner served from homes along the river.
“I want to thank everyone that helped make this event so successful. I am amazed at how so many pieces to this puzzle came together to make such an awesome and fun event. Many people chipped in to help where help was needed.”
