When it rains hard and you're nervous about "what's comin' down river", here's a reminder to click on the  flood gauge links on the Important Links page to monitor upstream stages of the river.

 

The five locations of river gauges are – Chesterville (uppermost one, located just below I-10), East Bernard, Boling, Old Ocean (graph shows wiggly line influenced by tidal change) and Sweeny (will be eliminated sometime in the future), it was replaced by the Old Ocean, Hwy 35 gauge. 

 

FOR's backyard weather forecaster (reliable and scientific, maybe not) says, "Expecting 1-2” more rain tomorrow afternoon  and night (Oct 24th). River rise should be minimal. High tides continue to have more influence than rain."
