National Weather Service (NWS) wireless telemetry equipment for monitoring water flow  stands near the San Bernard River approximately two miles south of Sealy on Hwy 3013. It is the uppermost gauge of four on the river.

The San Bernard River flows south under the bridge at Hwy 3013 after a couple weeks of substantial rain, This is the location of the NWS gauge that is described as San Bernard River near Chesterville on their link that reads the current river level or flood stage.

The southeast corner of the Attwater Prairie Chicken National Wildlife Refuge is located just north of the bridge.
