Life Along the Banks: M/V Louisianan Towboat

Did you know that steering a towboat is much like pushing a wheelbarrow? The back must swing out to point the front in the right direction. If you’re ever on a curve of the river and meet a towboat pushing a barge, be aware of the direction the stern is swinging. You don’t want to be on that side of the towboat. You may find yourself pushed into shallow water.
