The first event is the “Paddle or Power” competition. Entries in the power category include all power watercraft from bowriders to bass boats, ski boats to jet skis. Entries in the paddling category include human-powered crafts from canoes to kayaks, stand-up paddle boards to pedal boats. Vessels of all pedigrees and proportions will be traveling the river that day. Power boaters travel downriver, paddlers paddle upriver (three mile round trip) from the FOR Community Center.
There’s no finish line, as it is not a race, but rather a fun time to gather signatures (signature cards $10 each) from host docks located on the San Bernard River. A Checkpoint Map of locations will be provided at registration at the FOR Community Center. The signatures collected are turned in later for a playing card hand at Dido’s Restaurant. Trophies and gift certificates are awarded for the best hand. Rules

Last of the Regatta events is a live auction starting at 3:00 p.m. Two of the more popular items to be auctioned off are the river-style progressive dinners––a four course meal for six people, who are transported by water taxi to homes located on the San Bernard, enjoying a different course at a different home. View auction list.
The fundraiser monies go to fund FOR’s programs – the FOR Ranger watershed program for fifth graders, FOR scholarships for high school seniors, annual river clean ups, Adopt-a-Highway trash pick-ups, conservation easements, boat parades and all the other wonderful things FOR does for the San Bernard River watershed.
