Bird's-eye View of SBWR Burn

A couple of construction workers, standing on aerial lifts at the Churchill Bridge construction site, had a bird’s-eye view of the huge clouds of smoke that billowed over the San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge yesterday Jan 10th. The smoke was the result of a controlled burn of the refuge that is weather dependent and scheduled for a cool day with a north wind blowing. Controlled burns help maintain the open grasslands and puts important nutrients back into the soil
