Mother Nature Takes One Last Shot

Mother Nature took one last shot at the river in 2020. The photo shows a newly installed dock bench with just the back sticking out of slowly rising river water. This was caused by yesterday’s rainfall of 5” over a large portion of the northern watershed.
The Hwy 35 flood gauge (San Bernard River near Old Ocean) shows a 7 ft above sea level with a 8 ft crest predicted for midday tomorrow. That translates to about a 6 ft rise at the location of the photo (just above FM 522 Black’s Ferry Bridge) and a 3 ft rise or so for folks near the FM 521 bridge. Keep that power washer handy!
