Tim Pettigrew was the speaker at the “What’s Buggin’ You” FOR Environmental Committee public education program on Sat Nov 16th at the FOR Community Center. Tim has been a licensed pest control professional and company owner for the last 30 years and has lived on the San Bernard since the 1970’s. Tim is shown drawing a termite mud tunnel that is one of the top signs of a termite infestation heading to a food source.
Pests think of your house and yard as an all-you-can-eat buffet. Tim spoke about about these creepy crawlers - termites, roaches, ants, spiders and fire ants that are in and outside your home. He discussed ways you may be actually attracting them to infest your home such as branches or shrubs touching the roof, a home’s siding contacting the ground, a damaged screen to your soffit vent, loose window screens, crawl spaces in your house, pets carrying fleas and ticks, dirty dishes, untreated wood, a dirty recycling bin, stacks of paper and bed bugs brought in with your luggage. He then offered preventative control measures for each of these existing pest problems. It was a fact-packed “pest-time” program. Tim can be contacted at 281-344-0000 or email tgpettigrew@windstream.net.
- All FOR Environmental Committee programs are free and open to the public.
