Mouth, 3-24-24, looking NE. Dotted red line shows the path of the San Bernard River heading to the Gulf of Mexico. Accumulated sand and sediment keeps it at bay. Start of dredging to open the mouth is slated sometime Aug-Sep of this year. The dredging will restore the mouth to its historic location opening at its widest 1,000 ft. in the Gulf. RESTORE ACT funds will be used not tax payer money.
