Hear updates about the current challenges facing the San Bernard River at the annual FOR State of the River meeting. If you are interested in the Charles River Laboratories’ planned primate facility at Danciger, Tx or progress of getting the mouth open to the Gulf or anything else happening on the river, then you won’t want to miss this meeting.
Speaker Dr. John Stern, Veterinarian (Ret.) and nearby Danciger property owner, will discuss the planned 538 acre housing facility for thousands of primates that will be located a mile and a half from the San Bernard River. This facility could generate significant quantities of biological waste including hormones and potential diseases exposed to the ground at the site that drains into the San Bernard watershed, a major recreational area. A “Question & Answer” session will follow his talk.
The annual Ralph Primeau Memorial Award will be presented to the person whom FOR feels has significantly contributed toward the spirit and purpose of the FOR mission.
A “Taco Bar Buffet” will be available during the meeting, courtesy of Friends of the River San Bernard. Drinks can be ordered through the restaurant.
