Mouth Closed to Traffic - boat or fish

Aerial photo, taken by Debbie Smith on Sunday Nov 5th, shows the mouth clogged with sand and sediment. The outflow has shrunk to a trickle if even that. This area is the estuary of the San Bernard where the freshwater flowing out is supposed to meet and mix with the saltwater of the Gulf. Many plant and animal species thrive in this environment. The exchange of water is an important ingredient. Dredging on a regular basis is needed.
