On Saturday Nov 4, 2023, Friends of the River San Bernard fulfilled its yearly agreement with Adopt a Highway to pickup trash littering a mile stretch of road either side of FM 2611 Churchill Bridge. Ten participants collected 19 bags of trash during their sweep of the roadside. Overall this year, approximately sixty some bags of trash was collected. Good job FOR Adopt a Highway Committee!
Some of the same folks working Adopt a Highway enjoyed the first-Sat-of-the-month “Breakfast on the Bernard” held just before. Scott Summers was one of those folks and the winner of the breakfast “Just Because
Drawing”. Scott holds a FOR thermo cup that keeps hot things hot and cold things cold.
