City of Brazoria WWTP Update 5-11-22
Posted on May 12th, 2022
To answer the question of the compliance level on ammonia, it has dropped significantly over the last month as we tracked, we still are not satisfied with the results and will continue diligently. our reportable is 10.0 MG/L beginning of April it was at 35.5 MG/L, As of April 27th it was 26.0 MG/L. We are awaiting results for the beginning of May our lab can have up to a 1-week lead time on results.
To answer the question of TSS for effluent leaving the plant, starting the month of April it was 7.8 MG/L, as of April 27th it is 6.6 MG/L we are moving closer to our reportable of 2.0 MG/L. The thicker built sludge blanket is helping with this, but we want to see it thicker than what it is currently. Currently sitting at 14 and 16 inches ideally I'd prefer to have it between 24 and 30 inches
Some positive progress has been made, with more on the horizon, we are diligently working towards our goal and hope this has answered some of the questions you may have had.
As always, thank you for your continued patience with the City of Brazoria's Wastewater treatment plant progress and your time.
