Important Public Meeting Affecting the San Bernard
Posted on Aug 2nd, 2015

TCEQ Public Comment Meeting

Waste Treatment Plant Operating Permit Amendment

Tue Aug 4, 2015 - 7:00 p.m.

West Columbia Civic Center
516 E. Brazos Ave
West Columbia, TX

Eight Mile Park, LLP, has a small waste treatment
plant at FM 1459 and Hwy 35. The effluent from
the plant discharges into the Hwy 35 south side
ditch and eventually flows under the highway and
across private property, entering the San Bernard
above Hwy 35 and Hanson Riverside County Park.

The trailer park has applied for an amendment
to its operating permit. The amendment would
reduce their e-coli testing requirements from
five times per week (260 times a year) to once
per quarter (four times a year), and relax the
operator's license requirements to the minimum
level. There is evidence that shows a blatant
disregard for any of the current permit
requirements now.

Anyone who uses the river is affected by this
permit amendment. Please plan to attend the meeting and voice your opinion.
