Preparation for the Fundraiser
Posted on Oct 2nd, 2016

Preparations began on Friday, Sep 30 for the 200 plus guests expected to attend the third annual Escape to the Tropics Blue Hawaii fundraiser the next day. A $20 ticket got a meeting up close and personal with The King Elvis, a complimentary Blue Hawaii cocktail and welcoming lei, an island-style meal followed by a lively auction of great items.

Left photo: A session of rock, paper, scissors led to Tom Ronayne being chosen to climb the ladder to replace a light bulb in one of the FOR Communty Center outdoor lights. Bob Bailey applies his expertise at the base of the ladder while FOR president Mike Goodson seems to be timing the operation.

Top right photo: That's Claudia Pechacek showing off her climbing skills on the ladder tacking floral decorations to the eaves while helper, Peggy Davidson, models her version of a Hawaii lei.

Bottom photo: Sherrie Folger and Ange Ronayne artfully arrange the flower centerpieces.

The party tent, erected next to the San Bernard River, and the tables stand ready for the guests. Stay tuned to see results of the fabulous fun evening that followed on Saturday.               Photos: Tom Folger, www.folgerstudios.com
