Mouth Rapidly Building Sand
Posted on Nov 7th, 2017

San Bernard Mouth, low tide, Sun Oct 29, 2017 - Photo Bert Smith

“You can clearly see the sand bars continuing to build up at the mouth. I was there this past weekend with several boaters during an incoming tide. Water was coming across the darker colored sand bars at a fairly fast velocity.

If anyone is wade fishing, you need to be careful at tide changes. Lots of sand and silt being carried back into the mouth during the incoming tide and deposited inside the mouth. Note the bar in the middle (inside the mouth). We are seeing a fairly rapid closing.”  – Description by Bert Smith
