Breakfast on the Bernard & Adopt A Highway
Saturday, February 4th, 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. at F.O.R. Community Center
Breakfast on the Bernard. Enjoy a great breakfast catered by "Uncommon Affairs" and served up hot and steaming at the F.O.R. Community Center. Menu this time consists of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, coffee, juice and milk. Cost: $6 Hear the latest happenings on the river!
 
Adopt-A-Highway follows breakfast. Trash collected on two miles of FM 2611 (from CR 311 to FM 2918). Volunteers are needed for a hour to an hour and a half of trash pickup. Think of it as a free membership to a gym. Bring your own hat, gloves, strong shoes or boots, sunscreen and mosquitoes repellent. TXDOT AND F.O.R. supplies the rest.

Brazoria County Cavalry Four Year Anniversary
Saturday, February 11th, 2:00 p.m. at Lake Jackson Civic Center, Lake Jackson, Texas
This is a thank you to all of the families and supporters who have allowed Brazoria County Cavalry to be a part of their lives. The event will be dedicated to those who serve our country and county. This is not a fundraiser and there is no charge to be present at this event. San Bernard Watershed Stakeholders Meeting
Thursday, February 16th, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at West Columbia Civic Center, 516 E. Brazos Ave., West Columbia, Texas

State of the River Meeting
Saturday, February 25th, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at 2J's Seafood House, CR 469 on the San Bernard
Everyone’s welcome at this public “State of the River” meeting. F.O.R. Committees will share their 2011 accomplishments concerning the San Bernard River and present possiblities for a better future. Food can be ordered before, during, or after the meeting. You pay only for your personal food, if you order any, and there is no charge for anyone to attend. Your friends and family are encouraged to come.
 
Woodlands, Wildlife and Drought Landowner Workshop
Saturday, February 25th, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Cat Spring Agricultural Society Hall
The program is free and will include a meal and refreshments. People interested in attending should contact the AgriLife Extension office in Colorado County at 979-732-2082 by Feb. 20. Read flyer
 
 
Water Well Screening Day
Thursday, March 8th, 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Brazoria County Extension Office Building, 21017 County Road 171, Angleton
Bring sample from private water well. Wells should be tested annually. Cost is $10 per sample.
 
A meeting explaining the screening results will be held at 9 a.m. on March 10 at the Pearland Community Center in Pearland. For more information, call the County Extension Office at (979) 864-1558. Read flyer.
 
Men vs Women Fishing Tournament
Saturday, April 14th, Tournament starts 12:01 a.m. (one minute after midnight) at San Bernard River & F.O.R. Community Center
This fun event is the fourth annual battle of the sexes – the Men vs Women Fishing Tounament. Dust off your fishing license and tackle the hottest fishing contest on the best little river in Texas. Land a big one for your sex! Total weight of all fish caught by Men vs Women used to declare Best Fisherman title.
Weigh-in Time:
3:00-4:00 p.m. at F.O.R. Community Center,
20450 CR 510 B (1.5 miles south of FM 521 bridge). Hot dogs follow.
Volunteers are needed to help with the site prep, weigh-in of the catch, hot dog prep and keeping track of the biggest fish story! Contact: Marilyn Shockley, marilyn @sanbernardriver.com
 
F.O.R. Annual River Clean Up
Saturday, May 12th, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at San Bernard River & F.O.R. Community Center
It's time to spring clean the San Bernard! Volunteer and join your river friends to collect the trash accumulating along the river. These cleanups are essential to keeping the San Bernard beautiful. Stay tuned for further details. Select River Clean Up on the contact list to volunteer.
