      May 2008 Summary of News, Accomplishments and Events

 
May 1 -F.O.R.'s Logo Promotions Committee's "Design Diva's" decorated storefront windows at Quality Power Products in Brazoria, with a new summertime theme.
 
May 2 – F.O.R. members attended Brazoria County Day 2009 meeting at Commissioner’s Court in Angleton.
 
May 2 – F.O.R. members attended meeting with Commissioners Mary Ruth Rhodenbaugh and Dude Payne about the status of the boat ramp at Hwy. 35. 
 
May 3- Breakfast on the Bernard. Brian, Cindy, Sophie, Aedan, Troy and Two, the Super Dog were the featured Members of the Month.
 
May 7- F.O.R. Environmental Committee meeting.
 
May 8 - Board Of Directors meeting.
 
May 14 - F.O.R. Members attended the Brazoria County Beach Restoration Task Force in Freeport, Texas.
 
May 15- Members of F.O.R.  Attended Century 21 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for F.O.R. Member and Real Estate Agent, Marilyn Shockley.
 
May 19- F.O.R. Members made a presentation to the American Shoreline Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA)at their quarterly meeting in Matagorda.
 
May 9 -F.O.R. kicked off the initial youth steward program, the F.O.R. Rangers to be held the third Monday of each month at the F.O.R.Community Center.
 
May 20- F.O.R. members attended the farewell reception for John and Keri Bradley.
 
May 20- Several F.O.R. Members attended the Brazoria County Day 2009 meeting in Angleton.
 
May 21-F.O.R. Community Center committee monthly meeting.
 
May 22 - F.O.R. members attended Thank You Reception (for ringing the bell at Christmas time) at the Salvation Army.
 
May 26- F.O.R. Executive Committee meeting.
 
May 28- F.O.R. Community Center workday-to begin construction of new outside storage building.
 
May 30- F.O.R. Members attended a Texas Watershed Steward workshop  at Brazosport College.
