January - February 2008
 
January 1   Executive Committee meeting
January 5  1st Saturday Breakfast on the Bernard. The featured F.O.R. Members of the Month were Clayton, Carla and Cassie Curtis.
January 9   F.O.R. Mouth Committee members attended the Brazoria County Shoreline Restoration Task Force meeting..
January 10 Board Of Directors meeting at the Community Center.
January 14 F.O.R. Members attended the quarterly Krewe of Port Freeport meeting.
January 16 Community Center committee meeting.
January 17 F.O.R. Rangers meeting.
January 20 Community Center rental.
January 21 Community Center work day.
January 23 Community Center Committee meeting with D.A.R. (Dept. Of Assisted and Rehabilitation Services) to discuss needs and  funding of handicap accessiblities of center.
January 23 Roy Edwards addressed members of the Brazoria Realtors re the mouth of the San Bernard River, and spoke of update of C.O.E.  Plans.
January 31 F.O.R' s Logo Promotions committee members dressed windows at Quality Power, in Brazoria, with a Valentine's Day theme.
January 25 Mouth update meeting with Tom Lizardo, chief of staff for Congressman Ron Paul and senior staff members of the Galveston District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers held at the Brazoria Civic Center. http://sanbernardriver.com/2008/20080128.htm
January 28 Executive Committee meeting.
 
 
February 2  1st Saturday Breakfast on the Bernard. The featured F.O.R.Members of the Month were Gail and Laurel Brinson.
February 5  F.O.R. Volunteers, who helped with the opening of the Betty Brown Unit for the San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge invited to appreciation dinner .
February 13  F.O.R. Members attended the TxDOT Town Hall Meeting (re the I-65 corridor) at the Lake Jackson Civic Center where the San Bernard River mouth re-opening was discussed at length with state Senator Jackson’s representative.

February 23: F.O.R. Receives Dow grant
February 23 : F.O.R. Members Jan and Roy Edwards receive Dow/ Smithsonian Award -donate prize to F.O.R. Community Center
February 25 Executive Committee meeting.
February 28  F.O.R. Environmental and Mouth committee members attended the Bastrop Bayou watershed meeting at the Lake Jackson public library.
