F.O.R. was
privileged to be invited to participate at the national
conference of the American Shore & Beach Preservation
Association held at the
Galveston Convention
Center, Tuesday,
October 23, 2007. The conference was co-sponsored by the
Texas General Land Office.
At the awards dinner, our own
Donald “Dude” Payne (Brazoria County Commissioner, Pct. 1)
was awarded The Local Government Award by the
Texas General Land Office. This award is given to a
local elected official who has taken the time to not only
understand coastal issues and challenges, but to bring
together diverse constituencies with state and federal
partners. Please join F.O.R. in congratulating “Dude”
on this accomplishment! The river sings your praise.
