The River Raiser, F.O.R. San Bernard's annual fundraiser, is approaching quickly. It will be here before you know. There will be a lot of good food, fun for the children, visiting with friends and neighbors and opportunities for the grown folks to help support Friends Of the River. As you all know, most of the operating money for the organization comes from this fund raiser. It is very important in order to keep the organization working towards the goal of keeping the San Bernard healthy, clean and a great place to live and play. Lets all dig deep into our hearts and pocketbooks and pitch in to assure this great organization has the working capital needed, to achieve its many various goals. Of course, the biggest project at this time, is the opening of the mouth of the river, but there are a lot of new and exciting projects in the works also. Improvements to and maintenance of water quality, flooding concerns, responsible up stream development, boat ramp improvements, educational programs for all ages, and the continued social programs to keep neighbors in touch with neighbors, are just a few of F.O.R.'s commitments to the community. So mark the calendars, grab the family and friends and head on over to support the organization at the second annual River Raiser, Sunday, October 28th, 12 noon at the Knights of Columbus Hall between Brazoria and West Columbia
