We will
restore, protect, promote and ensure a clean,
healthy, flowing San Bernard River for the sanity and
enjoyment of present and future generations.

Senator Kyle Janek
Dear
Friends Of the River,
I
want to congratulate you on a year of public service in an
important cause to Brazoria and Matagorda counties as well
as to the state of Texas. In a world in which everyone has a
mouthpiece it is easy to take action groups for granted. But
that misses a crucial point. Forming a group to fight for
something you believe in is how this country got started.
Citizens petitioning their government for a redress of
grievances is so fundamental to our democracy that its
absence would mean an end to the freedoms we cherish so
deeply. Just as the soldier fights to protect our rights, we
must exercise those rights to keep them.
You
have accomplished a great deal in the past year, including
educating a state senator who would not have been aware of
the issue without you. For that I thank you. You have
accomplished much but your work is not done. I look forward
to the day when we can quote Abraham Lincoln, who, upon
learning of the fall of the last Confederate stronghold on
the Mississippi River wrote "the Father of Waters again goes
unvexed to the sea." Our goal is to once again ensure that
the San Bernard flows unvexed to the Gulf of Mexico. With
your hard work, help and inspiration, I have no doubt that
we will be successful.
Sincerely,
Kyle
Janek
