While the removal of the Spirit C was advantageous for the well being of the San Bernard River, I feel that a clarification on the newspaper article, which appeared in the Facts on Thursday, February 15, 2007, is in order. The project was first begun over a year ago and followed through by David Pope, who is presently Chairman of the F.O.R. Clean Team. Representative Dennis Bonnen and Senator Kyle Janek, who sponsored House Bill 2096, were very instrumental in getting this accomplished along with a lot of work by the General Land Office. F.O.R. San Bernard was formed after the initiation of the removal process and merits no recognition for this project. These people deserve the thanks for getting it done, not F.O.R. San Bernard.
Pat Webb,
President
F.O.R. San Bernard
