The 20^th Annual San Bernard River Christmas Boat Parade is - well - Right Around the Corner!

Well, it’s December 6th – 3 days out from the 20^th Annual San Bernard River Christmas Boat Parade and as of today, 15 boats and 12 houses are entered.  WOW!  Since I have been involved with this parade, there have never been this many entries this early - ever.  It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here!

 

We’ve tried to get the word out early this year, (did you see the new banner over the main street in Brazoria?) to give everyone a chance to get their entries together. But, we are coming down to the wire now and we really need to get as many of your entries in ASAP - as we are making the final preparations for the parade and are buying the final food items for the Awards Dinner.  So, take a minute, look at the Boat Parade tab, fill out your entry form and send it in to: parade@sanbernardriver.com. That way, we know you’ll be there and we’ll make sure that Santa has your name on his nice list!

 

Please take a look at the volunteer list posted recently and see if there is anything you can do to help out on the Open Items. Come to the Captain’s Meeting at Dido’s Thursday, December 7 at 7 p.m. so you can get your entry number and we can we discuss the details of the parade. This is the most important meeting of all!

 

Don’t forget, the parade and home decorating contest is Saturday night, December 9, but the homes will be photographed Friday night, December 8^th. Be sure to “light up” both nights! The Awards Dinner will be held on Sunday, December 10^th at noon at the Taylor’s home -2909 C.R. 604.

Everyone should come out for the parade and see the houses and boats all decorated in the Christmas spirit, have a good time and get into the holiday spirit. Remember, this is the 20^th anniversary for the Boat Parade on our river! Let’s make it the best ever!
